Abstract One of the best options for managing solid urban waste is its processing and recycling. This saves national resources and improves the quality of the environment. Before the Industrial Revolution, the Earth's population was about 1 billion, and now the population has reached more than 7.5 billion. Human nowadays need new solutions in the processing and recycling of waste. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and explain the effective indicators on the processing and recycling of Yazd city. Identification of indicators and their evaluation in order to increase the efficiency of waste management system in Yazd is one of the research needs. The type of research is based on the applied objective and is based on the nature and method of descriptive-analytic. The statistical population is experts in Yazd Municipality's Waste Management Organization, the Urban Services and Environmental Organization. The type of research is based on the purpose of the application. The method is descriptive-analytic. The statistical population is experts in Yazd Municipality's Waste Management Organization, the Urban Services and Environmental Organization. The number of required samples is calculated from the ten-fold rule. A questionnaire was used to collect the required data and 70 questionnaires were filled in. Convergent and divergent validity was used to determine the validity and to determine the reliability of the hybrid reliability method. Indicators of each dimension are identified and localized using library studies and related Latin articles. The results show that compost technology, informal sector organization, the existence of recycling center delivery centers and its appropriate distribution have affected the efficiency of waste management system in Yazd, but the processing infrastructure and the use of incentive factors have not affected system performance.
