Abstract

Transportation based on motorized vehicles has a wide range of negative consequences on urban communities and the environment, which can be pointed out by various types of pollution, heavy traffic volumes, and an increase in accidents. One of the urban transportation solutions that are coordinated and compatible with urban livability is the use of bicycles for intra-city trips along with other public transportation methods. Therefore, this research has investigated the viability of clean transportation in District 8 of Tehran. The research method of this study is descriptive-analytical and the data was collected through library and survey studies (questionnaire and interview technique). The validity of the tool and its reliability level were obtained with Cronbach's alpha of 0.98. The sample size was 383 people based on the population of the region in 2016 using Cochran's formula. Data analysis was done with one-sample and Friedman tests and in SPSS software. The results of this research show that the livability status of the 8th district of Tehran has been obtained in all indicators except the economic index, which is positive and more than 2.5, which indicates the appropriate status of the considered indicators in the entire region. Also, the significant coefficient shows that there is a significant difference in only two indicators of attractiveness and beauty (0.019) and accessibility (0.009) in the districts of District 8 of Tehran. Also, the results of the status of the neighborhoods in terms of clean transportation livability indicators show that the neighborhoods of Tehranpars, Dardasht, Madain, and Hafthauz have occupied the first to fourth places of clean transportation and livability respectively, and the neighborhoods of Narmak, Lashkar Sharqi, Lashkar Gabi and Weapons have obtained the final ranks of survivability.
