Khuzestan Province, with its unique natural potential, is a suitable platform for the development of adventure sports tourism. However, optimal utilization of these capacities requires accurate identification and strategic prioritization of key indicators for the development of adventure sports tourism in the urban space. In this regard, the aim of the present study is to determine and prioritize key indicators affecting the development of adventure sports tourism in the urban space of Khuzestan Province, which is carried out in order to provide a practical framework for urban planners and managers to improve the tourism potential of the region. In terms of the nature of the data, it is qualitative-quantitative, in terms of its purpose, it is applied, and in terms of data collection, it is descriptive. In order to collect data, a researcher-made questionnaire was used, and the DANP technique was used to prioritize the criteria. Data analysis was carried out using Excel software and considering 6 main indicators and 21 sub-indices. The validity of the questionnaire has been proven with the approval of experts in the field of adventure sports tourism. The inconsistency rate was used to measure the reliability of the questionnaire. Since the inconsistency rate of the F matrix is ​​less than 0.1, it can be concluded that the matrix in question, resulting from the opinions of experts, has acceptable reliability and allows the continuation of the research process. The results of this study show that the development of adventure sports tourism in Khuzestan province is highly dependent on natural attractions. These attractions, along with sports activities, cultural-social and managerial factors, are the main drivers of this type of tourism. In contrast, economic factors and infrastructure are more affected by these drivers.
