Abstract
Purpose- Nowadays, development projects are being carried out in rural areas with the aim of organizing and improving their physical structure. In this regard, the success rate of these development projects and the satisfaction of the people are among the most important subjects studied in geography.
development projects in the studied region. In this study, an attempt has been made to examine the status of road network implementation indicators in development projects in rural areas of Shahrekord County.
Method- The research methodology is explanatory-causal, using a survey method and employing questionnaires and field observations in 10 selected villages where the implementation of road networks in development projects has been a focus of attention. The study population includes local officials (council members, village heads, district officials, etc.) and local residents of the selected villages. Based on the number of households (6,693) in the studied villages, the sample size was estimated at 220 individuals.
Results- The correlation and pattern index of road network construction have the lowest correlation value of 0.485 with the implementation of rural road networks in development projects. Furthermore, the results of spatial analysis of road networks in development projects show that the highest rank of road networks in development projects is related to the villages of Vanan, Shamsabad, Khoy, Surak, Herchegan, and the lowest rank is related to the villages of Imamzadeh, Morghamalak, and Pir Balut. The results of path coefficient indicate that among the four dimensions examined for development projects, the network construction dimension has the highest impact with a path coefficient of 0.245, followed by the slope dimension with a path coefficient of 0.230. The architectural and landscape dimension ranks next with a coefficient of 0.237, and finally, the coverage and surface dimension have the least impact with a coefficient of 0.158.
