Abstract
This article aims to analyze Israel's attempt to establish territory in Iraqi Kurdistan and its impact on the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Zionist regime is considered one of the emerging players in West Asia, which has faced major problems due to not being recognized as legitimate by some countries in the region, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran. In order to get out of isolation and gain a strategic alliance in the region and with the aim of legitimizing its existence, this regime is trying to establish extensive relations with the Kurdistan region of Iraq in order to use its oil and gas resources and sell its products in this region. Thus, the main question of this research is, what effect will Israel's territorial expansion in Iraqi Kurdistan have on the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran? The hypothesis of this article is that since the Zionist regime suffers from geopolitical restrictions and high vulnerability in West Asia; Therefore, this country aims to achieve its strategic goals, including; Getting out of regional isolation, legitimizing its existence, finding a strategic ally in the region and creating a Greater Kurdistan in West Asia, in an effort to develop comprehensive relations and a wide presence in Iraqi Kurdistan as a non-Arab entity in the region. With extensive investments in the energy market and the development of trade and security relations with the Kurdistan Region, while supporting the independence of this region, Tel Aviv will gain access to a base next to Iran's borders, which will affect national security. The Islamic Republic of Iran can help the blockade and regional isolation of Tehran and the collapse of the axis of Islamic resistance in West Asia. Qualitative analysis method was used to analyze the research data.
