Abstract
Tourism is an approach that can develop rural areas with different climates. Semi-arid rural areas are considered to be a typical example of areas that have their own tourism resources. Therefore, examining the status of the tourism indicators of such villages, as well as analyzing the upcoming obstacles and capacities, is one of the most important actions in the field of knowledge and planning. In this research, this goal has been emphasized in the rural areas of Abadeh. The research method is descriptive-analytical and based on data collection through survey. The statistical population of the research is made up of rural residents, which according to the limitations of the research, based on the Cochran formula, 372 people were determined as the sample size. Cronbach's coefficient was confirmed to be more than 0.70. The result showed that the status of rural tourism indicators was evaluated at a level of less than 0.05 and with an average of 3.199. The best situation was related to the hospitality indicators of villagers (3.879) and the cost of staying and visiting in the village (3.847). Also, the result of Friedman's test showed that the most important challenges in the field of weak tourism services and infrastructure with an average of 9.91 and the lack of government support for local-native products in the village with an average of 9.38 and the most important capacities include attracting investment from the private sector with The average was 11.60 and the geographical location of the villages was 10.86. Overall, the analysis of the results shows that the tourism approach can be effective in sustainable rural development; Because the capacities and capabilities of tourism can help to diversify the economy of semi-arid rural areas. It is suggested to reduce the weaknesses and challenges according to the available capacities and resources.
