Abstract

The attempt of the present study is to evaluate the travel pattern of the customers of Janbaz Square shopping centers to show what time-motion pattern the customers' movements follow? A descriptive-analytical study and research variables (based on a conceptual model) including 1) features related to trip production (number and length of trip), 2) mode of transportation (private car, public car, Snap, motorcycle, bicycle, etc.) ) and 3) it is travel time. For this purpose, after document studies, relevant data was collected by visiting shopping centers in person and completing 250 questionnaires from their customers. In addition, simultaneously with the creation of the statistical information database in Spss, the location information database was also created in the GIS environment and georeferencing the location of the customers on the Mashhad city layer. Then, using statistical (orthogonal tables) and spatial (center of gravity, standard distance ellipse and network analysis) data analysis was done. The results showed that the total daily trip produced by customers is equal to 117,250 kilometers and the average length of each trip is 5.5 kilometers, which is mainly done by public transportation (with 35.6% of trips). Also, the spatial distribution of customers showed their non-compliance with the population distribution of Mashhad. on the other hand; Although the time-movement pattern of customers showed their predominant tendency towards weekend days, the results showed that the average length of customers' journey is longer in the early and middle days of the week. Also, while the customers at the end of the week often included the surrounding area of shopping malls, in the early and middle days of the week, there was a greater tendency to go to shopping centers than in other parts of Mashhad, which indicated a wider range of customers in the early and middle days of the week.
