Abstract
The Indo-Pakistani conflict over Kashmir, which is seen as a major obstacle to advancing regional integration as well as establishing peace in South Asia; It is one of the longest running geopolitical conflicts. The conflict began in 1947 with the emergence of India and Pakistan as two independent states based on the "two nations" theory. The Kashmir conflict has become particularly complex with the two countries' nuclear tests in 1998, which has had a significant impact on regional security. This study seeks to trace and identify the factors that have played a key role in creating and intensifying the conflict between India and Pakistan over Kashmir. Thus, the main question of the present article is what factors have caused the emergence and continuation of the Kashmir crisis? The hypothesis that can be hypothesized is that since the Kashmir region is of vital and strategic importance to India and Pakistan; Therefore, both countries want the annexation of Kashmir and its annexation to their homeland. However, various territorial, ethnic, linguistic and ideological factors and factors have caused the emergence and continuation of this geopolitical conflict; However, the efforts of Delhi and Islamabad to develop nuclear weapons and their impact on the Kashmir conflict have made it possible to make any solution possible, which will have a significant impact on the security equations of South Asia.
