Abstract
The main goal in the good governance approach is to move from centralized and hierarchical structures to a collaborative approach with social organizations and non-governmental actors, including the private sector, which provides the basis for sustainable urban development. Meanwhile, the position of urban governance as one of the important strategies to achieve sustainable development is of special importance, which is the focus of this research for the border city of Khaf. The analysis approach in this article is based on the position of governance in the realization of sustainable development of border cities. The data collection approach is an expert-oriented interactive approach and the analysis method is quantitative and qualitative, and the research method is descriptive-analytical. The findings of the research in the form of three parts 1- Identifying the governing factors effective on sustainable urban development in the form of 8 dimensions and 39 variables 2- Identifying and examining the role of these variables in the realization of sustainable urban development using the method of cross-sectional effects analysis (MICMAC) 3- Identifying the key drivers affecting the realization of sustainable development in the border city of Khaf using the instant Delphi method and prioritizing in terms of importance and uncertainty. The results showed that a total of 6 variables of attitude towards collective and collective work, the coordination of the programs of organizations related to urban management in the border city of Khaf, mutual communication and constructive interaction between government and private institutions, accountability of city managers and officials to citizens, meritocracy in the selection of managers Urban, the exchange of opinions of city managers in decisions related to city issues were selected as the most important influencing factors in the realization of sustainable development in the field of urban governance.
