Abstract
The present study tries to measure the gas consumption pattern of Miami city of Semnan province by relying on spatial methods. The study is of a descriptive-analytical type and research variables of human, physical, environmental characteristics and the amount of gas consumption and the statistical population also includes all the residential lots of Miami city (including 1490 lots). In the first step, after the document studies and the formulation of the conceptual model of the research, by visiting each residential unit in person, the information related to their energy consumption was collected according to the spatial codes and together with the physical, human and environmental characteristics of each, was stored in the spatial information database. . In the following, using 1) classical methods (scatter chart, trend line, discriminant analysis method and orthogonal tables) and 2) spatial statistical methods (standard distance, center of gravity, hot and cold spot analysis, OLS regression and geographic regression), The findings were analyzed. The results showed that the demographic, physical, economic and environmental characteristics respectively play the greatest role in explaining energy consumption. However, local analysis showed that the direction of these variables is not the same and in some situations they have a positive effect and in others they have a negative effect. Next, by combining the indicators at the neighborhood level, the energy consumption story of each neighborhood was compiled. Additional findings indicated that the effect of the variables is not absolute (except for income) and the different adjacencies of the variables have brought different effects. At the same time, it should be mentioned the role of the behavioral characteristics of the residents in the space as one of the absolute factors in energy consumption, which was not mentioned in the previous research.
