Abstract

Regional development leads to achieving high levels of knowledge and innovation through clustering and spatial proximity of activities and savings resulting from aggregation and co-location. In this regard, the present research has studied, analyzed and provided solutions for balanced spatial distribution due to overflow of benefits arising from development of clusters of knowledge and innovation in Tehran metropolitan area. This research is practical and quantitative-analytical in terms of method and used two methods of library studies and quantitative research method performs statistical analysis based on data and by calculating Gini coefficient indices of spatial concentration of knowledge-based economic activities, Gini coefficient of regional specialization and average share of spatial coefficient of knowledge-based activities from all economic activities, through Excel and GIS and also path analysis was used to extract the experimental path of balanced development of knowledge-based and innovative in Tehran metropolitan area through regression analysis between research variables in SPSS.The research strategies are prioritized using Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix(QSPM)and superior strategies will be presented. The results of quantitative analysis show in areas where development through knowledge-based industries is being done and has created regional specialization, Gini coefficient of spatial concentration of these activities is high and regional imbalance has been created, due to the participation of most of the counties in a series of specialized activities such as factory metal products except for machinery and equipment and etc, spatial clustering of various branches of these industries has been done. So Improving the role of human resources, technological infrastructures and strengthening the number and quality of workshops and centers related to research and development in region can produce or absorb the knowledge during economic activity and lead to an increase in knowledge-based economic capital, number of creative and knowledge-based businesses and companies and as a result, knowledge-based and innovative development
