Abstract

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is widely recognized as a key indicator for measuring a country's economic performance and growth in the market. It also serves as a measure of its economic and social welfare. Generally, when other well-being factors remain stable, an increase in GDP is expected to correspond with an increase in overall well-being. Consequently, many countries consider increasing GDP as a fundamental policy objective. This study aims to analyze the share of GDP among the provinces of the country. The CoCoSo and CRITIC models are employed for this analysis. The findings reveal that Tehran province, Khuzestan province, and Khorasan Razavi province obtained the highest rankings in the first strategy (Ka) with scores of 0.047, 0.041, and 0.040, respectively. In the second strategy (Kb), the top-ranked provinces are again Tehran, Khuzestan, and Khorasan Razavi with scores of 136.86, 59.97, and 43.24, respectively. Similarly, in the third strategy (Kc), Tehran, Khuzestan, and Khorasan Razavi provinces received scores of 1, 0.874, and 0.840, respectively, and were ranked accordingly. Nineteen provinces exhibit medium and very low levels of the studied indicators. Furthermore, the correlation test reveals that as migration and population density increase, the GDP also rises in the aforementioned provinces. Consequently, regional planners aiming to enhance the gross domestic product in provinces with a low rank should adopt a model tailored to their capabilities, promoting balanced, sustainable development and effective utilization of resources across all provinces. Consequently, regional planners aiming to enhance the gross domestic product in provinces with a low rank should adopt a model tailored to their capabilities, promoting balanced, sustainable development and effective utilization of resources across all provinces.
