Abstract
Various approaches have been proposed to achieve urban balance and sustainability, one of which is the ecological city. The purpose of the study is to provide an indigenous model for creating an ecological city in order to achieve sustainable development in the city of Dorcheh. The present study is applied in terms of descriptive-descriptive-analytical nature and quantitative in terms of paradigm. The method of collecting information was in the form of documents and in the field, and 375 people were questioned through a questionnaire. The statistical population of the study is the citizens in Dorcheh, were selected by cluster sampling. The validity of the questionnaire was formally confirmed from the perspective of urban planning and urbanization experts and its reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha coefficient with .839 .The results of the research show that since there is relative homogeneity among different areas of the city in terms of urban ecological indicators and the average of none of them was higher than the average of the test case (3), it is possible to achieve a sustainable transportation model of the ecological city with a specific model. Also, citizens have shown a high desire to use ecological city transportation (use of bicycles and pedestrians) with a high average (4.18) And it can be said that the social platform for creating a sustainable ecological city transportation in this city is available.
